HARARE – National Patriotic Front (NPF) spokesperson Jealousy Mawarire has said the Zimbabwe army should be part of National Dialogue since they are the reason for the impasse which exist in the country.

Speaking during a round table discussion at Zimpapers Television Network event, Mawarire said the army was the major player in the conflict between the President Emmerson Mnangagwa administration and the citizens.

He said the army is supposed to answer questions regarding the coup because that is one of the reason surrounding the issue of legitimacy or lack of it.

“The problem in this country is the army, it is the one that moved in and took over ZANU PF. Mangwana (Paul) does not belong to ZANU PF,” said Mawarire.

“ZANU PF belongs to the army. The army moved in on the 15th of November and we are favoured by the reasons why they moved in, they wrote; the command element of the army moved in and have signed minutes.

“They said we are moving in because we have realised ZANU PF is going to lose the elections, so we are going to take over the party from (Robert) Mugabe and those that support him,” he said boldly.
