LUSAKA – Opposition leader Chishimba Kambwili who leads the NDC party was finally freed from prison on Tuesday and vowed to press on with fighting for the truth in the copper rich nation.
Kambwili said he was being persecuted by the Edgar Lungu administration for standing for justice and also speaking against their incompetence.
“Thank you very much for standing with me, without you I cannot be encouraged. I am extremely humbled that from the time I was jailed you have been there for my family and some of you were spending nights at the prison.
“This political persecution is nothing I can be scared of, this thing happened when we were in PF. I was jailed for 30 days on trumped up charges.
“I went to prison for an offense I did not commit. In fact the only offense I have committed is to speak for the people of Zambia and for calling a spade a spade and not a pick for the sake of impression.
“I will never be intimidated. In any case what they have done is to allow me to add more volume,” said Kambwili.
