WINDHOEK – An emerging South African airline, BDS Airways, has made an offer of N$1.4 billion to buy the now liquidated Air Namibia.
Liquidators, McLaren and Bruni, writing to the Pilots Association of Namibia’s Heino Jakob yesterday said, “We have received the attached offer from BDS Airways. We advise that the liquidators intend (on) accepting this offer”.
As per the transaction timeline proposal, BDS indicated that they are ready for signing, funds and ownership transfer today, the 20th of Jan 2022.
November last year, it was reported that BDS initially made an offer of N$3.2 billion to buy the now defunct Air Namibia.
But the liquidators in their latest communication have highlighted that the previous offer was withdrawn.
No reasons have been provided in the documents.
