Zimbabwean Australia-based singer Thando Sikwila has reconfirmed that Zimbabweans have what it takes to take on the best in the world after reaching The Voice Australia Grand Final.
The Bulawayo-born, Melbourne-based singer, songwriter and actress cracked the top 4 in The Voice Australia Grand Final, battling Lachie Gill, Faith Sosene and Jordan Tavita.
Thando, who is currently employed as a performing arts teacher at a college in Melbourne, wowed the judges and audience with her incredible singing throughout the show.
“I just want Australia to take notice of me and see me in a position where I don’t know, maybe one day be as prolific as someone like Tina Arena,” she told PerthNow in an interview.
Thando is no newcomer to such a platform, having participated in Season 3 of The Voice in 2014 where she was eliminated in the sing-offs.
