Mugabe was better, Trump tells Mnangagwa

The United States of America on Friday said the government of Zimbabwe’s former leader Robert Mugabe was far better than President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration.

WASHINGTON DC — The United States said Friday that the government of former Zimbabwean leader Robert Mugabe is far better than the government of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Even more damaging to Mnangagwa and his failed lieutenants, Washington also said long-suffering Zimbabweans are now far worse off than during Mugabe’s long and ruinous rule.

It comes as Mnangagwa yesterday reiterated his government’s commitment to ending Zimbabwe’s international isolation.

It also comes as the US government on Thursday imposed sanctions on former Presidential Guard commander Anseleem Nhamo Sanyatwe and his wife – as Zimbabwe marked a year after the shocking killing of six civilians by the military on August 1 from last year.

Sanyatwe, who is now Zimbabwe’s designated ambassador to Tanzania, will no longer be allowed to visit America or participate in American-run business following his recent forced retirement from the military.
