PRETORIA – Zimbabwe football team interim coach Jairos Tapera has focused on the positives after an uneventful day for the Warriors against minnows Lesotho in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Group C qualifiers on Friday.
Zimbabwe were defeated 0-2 by the Crocodiles at the prestigious Orlando Stadium in South Africa after a poor show.
But while everyone is still soothing with anger, coach Tapera has taken the positives from the match after Zimbabwe put an organised act in the second half.
“I am very disappointed with the result. We conceded two soft goals due to defensive blunders in the first half.
“It was a bad first half, but my boys played well in the second half and I am very happy with that performance.

“It’s a game of football, but we needed to respond and win the match.
“I am not disrespecting Lesotho, but we ought to beat them given what we have in terms of personnel as compared to them,” he said.
Zimbabwe shift their focus to the next game against South Africa on Tuesday in Bloemfontein.
