PRETORIA – Germany based midfielder, Jonah Fabisch, believes Zimbabwe have the quality to cause problems for South Africa.

The 24- year-old who plays for German 3 Liga side FC Erzgebirge Aue had his first training session with the Warriors on Wednesday after returning to the national team scene.

Fabisch had an injury the last time Zimbabwe played international games in September against Benin and Rwanda which sealed the Warriors fate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Zimbabwe will be in action on Friday 10th October 2025 for the Group C 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Africa at the Moses Mabidha in Durban with nothing but pride for the group anchors.

On the other hand, Bafana Bafana has more to lose if they fail to win with Group C now an open contest after South Africa were docked of three points for fielding an ineligible player.

Benin top the group with 14 points same as Bafana while Nigeria and Rwanda have 11 points with two games to go.

Given this reality, Fabisch wants to make Warriors fans happy by playing party spoilers for Bafana.

“I think we can do something special,” Fabisch was quoted by The Herald.

“We have defenders who like to play forward and goalkeepers who also have the eye for the midfielder.”

“So we definitely have chances to play through midfield and have combinations through the midfield.”

“So that’s definitely a plus if you’re a player who wants the ball,” added Fabisch.

Zimbabwe will wrap up their World Cup qualifying campaign against Lesotho in Polokwane on Tuesday 14th October 2025 and then shift their focus to the AFCON tournament in Morocco this December.
