President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Monday extended the Covid-19 lockdown by two weeks, citing the risk of mocking unknown variants and the need to ramp up rapid testing.
However, a number of lockdown rules have been relaxed as the curfew has been changed from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Business previously required to shut shop at 3PM can now operate till 6PM.
Government manning levels to increase to 25%, up from the 10% presently reporting for work.
Schools to remain closed.
Intercity and interprovincial commuting still prohibited.
Funeral gathering limits remain unchanged at 30 mourners.
Social gatherings remain prohibited.
Courts to only deal with urgent matters – no persons allowed in the gallery.
