ABU DHABI – Zimbabwean golfer Kieran Vincent emerged triumphant in a thrilling playoff during the LIV Golf Promotions Event in Abu Dhabi, securing one of the coveted spots in the LIV Golf roster for the upcoming 2024 season.
Vincent’s impressive performance over the weekend earned him the opportunity to compete alongside his brother, Scott Vincent, who has been a permanent member of LIV Golf since the 2023 season.
Vincent, finishing in a three-way tie for second place, expressed his excitement about joining LIV Golf and playing alongside his brother.
In a statement via the LIV Golf news service, Kieran Vincent shared his enthusiasm:
“It’s going to be awesome . . . Obviously excited to play with my brother next year, it’s going to be awesome. I don’t think the tears are doing it justice (to the emotional moment). Watching my brother the whole year, seeing how life-changing it can be, I just hope that this kind of propels to a whole new level.”
Vincent acknowledged the learning opportunity provided by LIV Golf, especially with notable players like Jon Rahm recently signing up.
The chance to compete alongside experienced and accomplished golfers is seen as a significant step in Vincent’s professional career.
Kieran Vincent’s journey to securing a spot in the LIV Golf roster was filled with remarkable moments during the LIV Golf Promotions Event.
Notably, he did not play the first round due to his fourth-place finish in the International Series, which seeded him directly into the second day of the event.
The Zimbabwean golfer delivered a solid performance, finishing T6 with a score of -5, just three strokes behind the transitional leader.
The pivotal moments came in the third and decisive round, a 36-hole challenge where players started with a reset score.

After the initial 18 holes on Sunday, Vincent secured a runner-up position, earning him a ticket to LIV Golf.
However, the final 18 holes altered the landscape, resulting in a tie for second place with Laurie Canter and Jinichiro Kozuma.
As only two spots were available, a playoff round ensued, extending to two holes before Canter finished outside the top 3.
Ultimately, Kieran Vincent, along with Kalle Samooja and Jinichiro Kozuma, secured their places in the 2024 LIV Golf roster.
They join 2023 International Series winner Andy Ogletree to fill the four vacancies, signing LIV Golf contracts and becoming eligible for recruitment by teams with openings on their rosters.
Kieran Vincent, who turned professional in 2022, clinched his place in the 2024 LIV Golf roster by winning the International Series event in Vietnam.
The thrilling playoff victory on the final day showcased his talent and determination, solidifying his position among the golfing elite.
