Harare magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka has again denied bail to Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole, who have been in detention for 66 days now since their arrest on 14 June for inciting the Nyatsime June 14 violence.

HARARE – Harare magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka has again denied bail to Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) lawmakers Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole.

The two legislators have been in detention for 66 days now since their arrest on 14 June for allegedly inciting the Nyatsime violence on June 14.

The two appeared in court on 18 August applying for bail on changed circumstances after learning that their bail requests had been turned down. Judgement was reserved for Monday.

Chakanyuka, in her ruling, said nothing had been placed before the court to prove the changed circumstances.

The two remain locked up at Chikurubi Maximum Prison in cells used to house hard-core criminals.
