The definition of talent starts with Andy Muridzo. If there is any disputation to this assertion then the latest project Sango Ne Dziva by the gifted contemporary musician will settle the argument.
It is just a complete project which also encompasses the versatility of Andy Muridzo, real name Andrew Ngwenya.
The Jeetaz Band frontman has often been a victim of bad publicity but his music keeps him somewhere above the rest while also silencing doubters in the process.
Sango Ne Dziva, the latest album by Andy Muridzo was released on 30th July 2021 and is already making waves all over.
The 17-track album carries different messages of spiritual, romantic, educational and partying flavors as the Binocular hit maker made effort to be inclusive.
The album also shows the graduation of the singer into a mature figure on this latest offering which has Gateway Stream as the distribution and streaming partner.
A number of fans from different backgrounds and high profile artists as well have already bowed down to the king of melodies – Mambo vane hukasha, as Andy Muridzo often calls himself.
The album title track Sango ne Dziva which seems to be the fan favourite so far is a spiritual song that talks about the goodness of God with one familiar line “ndiyani waronga izvi, ndi Mwari wakanaka” and also the love of “mapositori” (members of the white garment apostolic sects).
“Murimambo” and “Dzika Peter” also take the spiritual and worship path by revealing the greatness of Almighty God while also praising Him.
A traditional beat with educative lyrics is what Andy Muridzo is known for and songs like “Dziva Guru” , “Hombarume” , “Muchaturuka Rinhi” , “Samuninga” , “Tinorevedzana” , and “Danda Rinofema” did justice for the artist.
“Garadziva” and “Munofa Muchiona” have a mbira rhythm.
There was space for a Jazz sound through songs such as “Mhere”, “Varaidzo” and “Bande” which in most parts follow the path of late icon Oliver Mtukudzi in terms of melody.
Other songs “Africa” , “Follow Me” which features Tanzanian songbird Haitham Kim, and “Mai Mwana” adopt a classic vibe.
Hail, O Andy Muridzo! The king has returned.
