PRETORIA – Bafana Bafana gaffer Hugo Broos stepped up South Africa’s preparations for the upcoming FIFA Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers with a 31-man squad announcement on Thursday.
South Africa will come up against neighbours Zimbabwe and powerhouse Ghana next month as nations compete for a ticket to represent the continent at the global showpiece in Qatar.
The provisional squad named by Broos includes the likes of Al Ahly bound Percy Tau and Luther Singh of FC Copenhagen in Denmark.
South Africa will open their World Cup qualifiers Group G chapter with a date against neighbours Zimbabwe away on September 3 before playing host to Ghana three days later.
