DURBAN – Black Rhinos Queens (Zimbabwe) are through to the COSAFA Women’s Champions League final of the tournament currently underway in South Africa with a 2-0 win over Botswana side Double Action at King Zwelithini Stadium on Thursday midday.
Rhinos becomes the first team to book a semifinal place at the 2021 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifiers and will face the winner between South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns and Zambia’s Green Buffaloes.
Goals from Mavis Chirandu and Marjory Nyaumwe were enough to seal the contest for Rhinos Queens.
The team has been in fine for so far in this tournament with a remarkable feet that has seen them scoring 7 goals against zero conceded.
The real test will likely be in the final provided free scoring Mamelodi Sundowns ladies qualify.
Rhinos have defied the odds and write fairy-tale in the process with their top class performance especially for a team that went two years without action.
