Chamisa launches electoral reforms blueprint to PREPARE for 2023 polls

Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) President Nelson Chamisa launched a reforms blueprint code named PREPARE on Thursday as a road-map for the anticipated 2023 general election.

HARARE – Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) President Nelson Chamisa launched a reforms blueprint code named PREPARE on Thursday as a road-map for the anticipated 2023 general election.

PREPARE which means Pre-Election Pact on Electoral Reforms was unveiled at a press briefing in Harare and is going to be a precursor to gauge the readiness for free, fair and credible elections in Zimbabwe.

Launching the PREPARE document Thursday at an event attended by CCC top officials and civic leaders, Chamisa said elections in Zimbabwe must be credible, free and fair.

Key points of the 7 fundamental electoral reforms in the PREPARE document – a plan launched by CCC after nationwide consultations with the citizens across Zimbabwe:

  1. The right to vote
  2. A credible voters’ roll
  3. A credible real-time results announcement system
  4. Integrity of Electoral processes-personnel and polling materials
  5. Political freedoms and access to the media
  6. Security of the vote
  7. Safety of the voter
