Chillspot Records trio granted bail pending appeal

HARARE – The Mbare trio of DJ Fantan, born Arnold Kamudyariwa, DJ Levels (real name Tafadzwa Kadzimwe) and music promoter Simbarashe Chanachimwe, aka Dhama, have been granted $10,000 bond pending appeal.

The trio were found guilty of breaching Covid-19 regulations by hosting a crossover New Year’s Eve event at Mbare Matapi Flats which was adorned with a crowd.

Judge Davison Foroma issued his decision, arguing that the trio posed no flight risk, but ordered them to continue to reside in their Matapi homes and report to the Matapi police station every two weeks.

The bailing out of the boys at Chillspot Records is an exciting event for the entertainment industry, which found no comfort in the dawning reality of the heavy sentence handed down by the court earlier this month.
