HARARE – Dynamos were back to their best when they ruthlessly trounced Yadah Stars for four in an entertaining Chibuku Super Cup match at National Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

They were completely a different team from the one which faced Herentals in the previous week, with six players having been cleared to feature for the Glamour Boys.

Kick off for the encounter was delayed after Yadah initially failed to produce their COVID-19 tests results.

Dynamos started the match on the front foot and after some excellent play, former Bulawayo Chiefs utility player Shadreck Nyahwa scored his debut goal in first appearance for Dembare to break the deadlock with 10 minutes of play.

Cameroon international Albert Eounde doubled the advantage for Dynamos in the 20th minute.

Another goal was to follow in 39th minute when returnee Godknows Murwira scored a third, unleashing a beauty and one that will be a contender for goal of the tournament.

The match went for half time with Dynamos leading 3-0.

Second half started with Yadah trying to find their anointing to stabilise their ship by playing a different game from the lifeless first half show.

Dynamos were however back to haunt them in the 64th minute when debutante Nyahwa sealed his brace after catching Yadah goal minder off his line to seal the contest with another immaculate long range.

Yadah pressed on with industrious Issa Sadiki coming close in the 75th minute but his effort off target.

Dembare coach Tonderayi Ndiraya was over the moon after the final whistle and praised his charges for a classy performance.

“It was difficult for us last week. We were forced to play with a largely a team which we were not preparing with. I think this week we got some of those players back. It’s pretty much the same team which played Highlanders in the Independence Cup, so we were training like that and today it came out.

“Of course, like I said, it’s still early days. I am happy about the result but of course you can see that the performance is not really were we want it to be, but I think with more practice, more matches, more match fitness, we can get better,” an elated Ndiraya said.

Miracle Boys coach Genesis Mangombe bemoaned the silly mistakes made by his charges.

“At this level we don’t allow some silly mistakes. One we are playing a tournament, two we are playing one of the biggest team in the country and we make a lot of mistakes.

“Maybe we failed it because we misjudged our decisions at the back line but we will adjust on that one come the next game on Wednesday,” said Mangombe.
