Dynamos Ready for Chibuku Super Cup battle

Dynamos captain Patson ‘Minister of Defence’ Jaure has warned rivals clubs to expect a competitive display from his side when the local game restart this weekend.

HARARE – Dynamos captain Patson ‘Minister of Defence’ Jaure has warned rivals clubs to expect a competitive display from his side when the local game restart this weekend.

Jaure assured the club’s proverbial seven million supporters that the players are more than ready to fight for the most successful club in Zimbabwe.

“I just want to say to our fans that we as players know what they demand from us. Each and every match we play is a final and all teams we play against want to make history by beating Dynamos,” said Jaure.

The local football will finally return to the field this weekend courtesy of a Chibuku Super Cup tournament which will run for four to six weeks.

After the completion of the tournament, the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League will then be expected to commence in July, more than a year since the last match was played in November 2019.

The league was put on hold due to the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic which has affected almost all activities globally.

All that will be history when the local teams finally plunge into battle this weekend and obviously all the attention will be on Dynamos, CAPS United, Highlanders and FC Platinum.

The attention on Dynamos is however giving Jaure all the confidence to smiles on the club’s legion of fans by trying to win the Super Cup.

“As for us we are strong, showing each and every game we play is a must win game. I just want to say we are ready,” said Jaure.

Dynamos faces Herentals on Sunday at National Sports Stadium, a day after the CAPS United versus Yadah Stars match.

Reigning league champions FC Platinum will face returnees Whawha FC at Mandava on Saturday while Highlanders will begin their campaign with a tricky fixture against Bulawayo Chiefs.
