JOHANNESBURG – Police in Mpumalanga have confirmed they are investigating a murder following the discovery of Hillary Gardee‘s body on Tuesday morning.
The daughter of former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) general secretary Godrich Gardee, Hillary, 28, was reported missing over the weekend after she was last seen in Nelspruit CBD on Friday afternoon.
Mpumalanga Police spokesman Colonel Donald Mdhluli said passers-by discovered her body on the side of the road about 40 kilometers from Nelspruit on their way to work.
“Upon arrival, the police discovered the body had bruises on the head and she was still wearing the clothes that she was wearing and she was actually identified by the family as Hillary Gardee – 28 years of age – who was reported missing over the weekend. And we are investigating a case of murder.”
Meanwhile, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has send his condolences to the Gardee family while confirming his intended visit to mourn with the bereaved family.
“The Commander in Chief and President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader, Julius Malema, will visit the Gardee family after the tragic passing of Commissar Godrich Gardee’s daughter, Hillary Gardee,” said the party in a statement.
