PRETORIA – Orlando Pirates former striker Joseph Kamwendo is convinced Gabadinho Mhango would have made a big difference had he been given a fair chance by the Buccaneers.
Kamwendo believes Mhango is one of the ‘best strikers’ in the DStv Premier League who can change the game on any given day.
“I think Gabadinho could have at least had a fair chance like everyone else; he’s a goalscorer,” Kamwendo told the media.
“If you look at the pirates, they are fighting outside the gate; That’s the problem when they have to finish the opportunities they create.
“Pirates have been very disappointing this season and if you look at their team you can tell they were bad because they didn’t win a trophy but they are fighting for a place in the CAF Champions League,” he declared.
Kamwendo said the famed Sea Robbers have not lost their touch but are only struggling with utilising the talent at their disposal.
“Pirates have the best team in the league in almost every position, but the only problem I’ve seen is how they put together their team and on game day you find a player who deserves to play in the stands or on the bench, without the chance to play.
“If Pirates are to get back to winning ways in terms of trophies, I think they just need to face the best players in the right positions,” Kamwendo said.
