LOS ANGELES — American hip-hop artist Kanye West has changed his name and will now be known simply as Ye.
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has reportedly granted the hip-hop entertainer’s name change request.
The 44-year-old filed the request in August for “personal reasons”.
The rapper, best known for hits like Gold Digger and Stronger, once used Ye as a nickname.

In August, Ye released her latest album Donda, which has 27 tracks and is two hours long.
Other artists like Prince, Snoop Dogg and Sean Love Combs have all changed names over the years.
Ye made headlines earlier this year after being separated from his wife Kim Kardashian for almost seven years.
The news comes after his ill-fated run for the US presidency in 2020.
