LONDON – Zimbabwe’s national team captain and midfielder for English Premier League (EPL) side Luton Town, Marvelous Nakamba, remains optimistic about the team’s survival in the competitive league despite a recent 1-2 loss to reigning champions Manchester City.

Nakamba, who made his return to the pitch after a knee injury sidelined him for three games, expressed confidence in Luton Town‘s ability to avoid relegation, emphasizing the need for increased self-belief.

Luton Town, viewed as underdogs in the EPL this season following their promotion, has shown resilience against top-tier opponents, including Liverpool (1-1), Arsenal (3-4), and Manchester City.

Although Luton Town led in the second half in these encounters, they secured only one point from a possible nine.

With nine points from 16 matches, Nakamba acknowledges the challenges but remains positive about the team’s performances.

In an interview aired on SuperSport, Nakamba reflected on the match against Manchester City, saying, “We did our best as a team to take out the positives and focus now on the next match.”

He praised their home fans, stating, “Especially here at home with the fans behind us, it is the DNA of the club to let go against anyone by giving our best as a team to get some result.”
