KADOMA – Veteran gaffer Bigboy Mawiwi has made a return to the dugout after being appointed head coach of Kadoma based Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) side Come Again for the 2023 season.

Mawiwi, a three time championship title winning coach in the Northern Region Soccer League with Circle United in 2000, Gunners in 2007 and Harare City in 2011 comes in as a replacement for Wonder Ngoko who left to join new boys MWOS.

Come Again vice chairman Dick Dumbu said they had a number of applications for the job including some from outside the country but settled for Mawiwi because of his experience and track record in the league.

“We had applicants coming in form one regional country but we settled for Mawiwi because of his vast experience having coached several clubs in the Northern Region Soccer League, the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League and abroad,” Dumbu said.

“Come Again executive would like to thank all the coaches who have shown interest in the Kadoma based club for the position of head coach.”

Mawiwi who won the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Coach of the Year award in 2013 after guiding Harare City to a third position finish in the league said he is relishing the challenge with Come Again.

“I’m humbled to have been chosen as the coach for Come Again. Come Again is an ambitious side and this made me take this challenge,” Mawiwi said.

“I know it’s not going to be a stroll in the park because people in Kadoma are very demanding, they want the best out of their beloved club. This also made me think I should take up this job. I’m happy to be on board, it’s a challenge that I take with both hands.”

Come Again narrowly survived relegation last season in a difficult season for teams from Kadoma which saw other teams from the town Cam & Motor, CUMA Academy and Golden Valley all getting relegated.

Mawiwi will kickstart the 2023 season campaign away to debutants ZRP Harare at Morris Depot stadium on 18 March.
