WUHAN – Zhejiang FC beat leaders Wuhan Three Towns 2-1 in the 21st round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Tuesday.
This is only the second defeat of the season for leaders Wuhan.
Just seven minutes into the match, Nyasha Mushekwi opened the scoring for Zhejiang Greentown with a header.
Liang Nuoheng converted a corner 20 minutes later from Brazilian Matthews to extend the home side’s lead to two goals.
Wuhan scored in the 77th minute when Marcos Vinicius Amaral Alves completed a header from Xie Pengfei’s cross. The visitors created a few chances in the second half but failed to equalise.
Zhejiang moved to 5th position on the table with 32 points after the game while Wuhan remain top with 47 points.
