Warriors captain Knowledge Musona believes Zimbabwe has the quality that can propel the nation to qualify for the World Cup as well as doing well at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon in January.
Musona said Zimbabwe has the capacity to compete against the best teams in Africa and should not be doubted.
“We have the potential and the quality to do well. I believe we have the capacity to qualify for the World Cup,” Musona said.
“Our team is good but it all depends with how we start the first game because it’s the one that determines how we finish. I can say we are ready for South Africa.
“As for the Africa Cup of Nations, we are going to give it our best shot. The draw is okay, it’s motivating playing against the big teams.
“We haven’t gone beyond the group stages and we want to achieve that this time around,” added Musona.
The Warriors squad for the World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Ethiopia for next month is set to be announced either Monday or Tuesday.
Some Zimbabwean fans have been pessimistic on the chances of the Warriors doing well at both the World Cup qualifiers and the Africa Cup of Nations citing the performances under coach Zdravko Logarusic.
