HARARE – National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) announced Tuesday the nominees for the NAMA 21st edition awards with controversy shrouding the inclusion and omission of some players once again.
NAMA revealed the list of awards nominees on their Facebook platform which has some seasoned campaigners such as Sandra Ndebele, Freeman HKD, Baba Harare and Chipaz Promotion.
New faces who made it to the nominees list include Mark Ngwazi, Saintfloew, Mambo Guramatunhu, and DJ Ollah 7 (Owen Madondo) among others.
However, it is the continued omission of Midlands based Magtom Media which has set tongues wagging again on social media with some quick to dismiss the awards as biased.
The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) is going all out to make this year’s event spectacular when the country’s largest art award show is eventually held.
The NAMA Awards 2023 ceremony will take place on 25th February 2023 with a glitz gala already on cards at least according to the hints provided by organisers.
