Castle Lager Premier League side Ngezi Platinum Stars has fired head coach of Benjani Mwaruwari along with his assistant Bongani Mafu over poor results.

MHONDORO – Castle Lager Premier League side Ngezi Platinum Stars has fired head coach of Benjani Mwaruwari along with his assistant Bongani Mafu over poor results.

The club confirmed the dismissal of Mwaruwari in a statement issued on Monday afternoon.

“Ngezi Platinum Stars Football Club would like to inform all its stakeholders that the Club has
parted ways with Head Coach Benjani Mwaruwari by mutual agreement.

“This was Benjani’s first coaching assignment and both the club and the coach agreed that it did not deliver the expected results hence the decision to separate was in the best interest of the club.

“NPS FC wishes Benjani all the best in his future endeavours,” the statement read.

Ngezi Platinum has since appointed assistant coach Takesure Chiragwi as the interim head coach to replace Mwaruwari.

Chiragwi will be assisted by Klitton Kadulira.

Mwaruwari presided over 13 matches winning 3, lost four times and had 6 draws during his short tenure in charge of Ngezi Platinum Stars.

His last match in charge was in the 1-0 defeat to Yadah on Sunday.
