President Hichilema rings changes in army, police

President Hakainde Hichilema has rung some changes to the country's security wings namely the Zambian National Army and Zambia Police.

LUSAKA – President Hakainde Hichilema has rung some changes to the country’s security wings namely the Zambian National Army and Zambia Police.

Speaking at the State House on Sunday evening, President Hichilema announced Dennis Alibuzwi as the new Zambian Defence Force army commander.

He will be deputised by Godfrey Jere while Collins Barry and Oscar Nyoni were appointed new Zambian Air Force commander and deputy commander respectively.

Patrick Solochi is the new commander for Zambia National Service (ZNS) and will have Reuben Mwewa as his deputy. There will be a new Inspector General of Police in the name of Lemmy Kajoba.

President Hichilema security appointments:

1. Dennis Alibuzwi – Army Commander

2. Godfrey Jere – deputy commander

3. Collins Barry – Zambia Air Force (ZAF) commander

4. Oscar Nyoni – Zambia Air Force (ZAF) Deputy Commander

5. Patrick Solochi – Zambia National Service (ZNS) Commander

6. Reuben Mwewa – Zambia National Service (ZNS) deputy commander

7. Lemmy Kajoba – Inspector General of Police

8. Milner Muyambango – DIG operation

9. Doris Chibombe – DIG Admin

10. All provincial commissioners are relieved of their duties.
