Shandong Taishan edged Meizhou Hakka 2-1 in the 21st round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Wednesday to pile pressure on log leaders Wuhan Three Towns who lost to Zhejiang FC.


MEIZHOU – Shandong Taishan edged Meizhou Hakka 2-1 in the 21st round of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on Wednesday to pile pressure on log leaders Wuhan Three Towns who lost to Zhejiang FC.

Montenegrin international Nebojsa Kosovic scored the opener for Meizhou in the 66th minute, before Brazilian striker Cryzan equalised for Shandong with his 11th goal of the season two minutes later.

In the 87th minute, Shandong Taishan took the lead when a free-kick by Zheng Zheng was deflected into the net.

The win on Wednesday means that defending champions Shandong have reduced the gap between them and league leaders Wuhan Three Towns to one point.

In the other match played elsewhere, Beijing Guoan ended Shanghai Port‘s three-game winning streak 1-0.
