HARARE – The ministry of primary and second education (Zimbabwe) on Tuesday released the revised 2022 school calendar, with the first term lasting just 45 days.

The government through Information minister Monica Mutsvangwa on Wednesday announced that schools will re-open for the second term on August 30.

Zimbabwe is moving at a fast speed in implementing the e-learning strategy nationwide as schools remain closed due to the pandemic, a cabinet minister said on Tuesday.

Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has extended the deadline for candidates to register for the November examinations up to July 30, 2021.

Zimbabwe will open schools for first term in two phases on March 15 and March 22 following a recent decline in covid-19 cases, the country authorities announced.
