HARARE – Afro-fusion songbird Thamsanga Tamy Moyo finally released the much anticipated ‘Bvudzijena Album’ at a colourful event in the capital.
The album which carries 13 songs was launched with the support of ZIMOCO who are the official brand partner of Tamy Moyo.
Bvudzijena is simply classy art – that only those who appreciate good music will connect with at ease.
Tamy Moyo who has been rising through the music ranks at lightning speed proved that she is not a pushover but a force to reckon with as the project may tell.
When loosely translated, Bvudzijena means ‘grey hair’ and in social circles it symbolises wisdom or maturity.
It is true that Tamy Moyo has gained wisdom in her long journey to the apex and the launch of a debut album is just the perfect answer to the call of maturity.
“Bvudzijena is a detailed piece on my journey as a creative and as a young Zimbabwean.
“I have taken time to tell my story the best I can but I am actually nervous and anxious to have people hear the events of my life.
“Well, I did my best to tell the truth and just pray it will inspire others,” the Ndibereke hit-maker told RosGwen24 News.
Tamy Moyo collaborated with a number of artists on her album Bvudzijena with the late dancehall sensation Soul Jah Love being the face.
Tamy who professed it was always her dream to collaborate with the late lyrical genius did a song “Rudo” which is making rave reviews since its official release.
She also roped in Valee Music, Bulawayo rapper Cal Vin and man-of-the-moment Nutty O on other songs to add flavour to the album.
Songs on Tamy Moyo’s Bvudzijena album are “Sare”, “My Love Is Yours”, “Like Whatever”, “Big Stepper” featuring Valee Music, “Chiuya”, “Handigone”, “Star In The Night”, “Angila Ndaba” featuring Cal Vin and Nutty O, “Umthandazo”, “Do My Own Things”, “Berekana”, “Rudo” featuring the late Soul Jah Love and “Mutoro” (Outro).
