MUNICH – In a thrilling UEFA Champions League (UCL) encounter, Bayern Munich secured their spot in the quarter-finals with a commanding 3-0 victory over Lazio on Tuesday, sealing a 3-1 aggregate win.

England striker Harry Kane stole the show with a brace, while Thomas Mueller added another goal to propel Bayern to victory at the Allianz Arena.

Kane’s header in the 38th minute canceled out Lazio’s lead from the first leg, igniting hopes of a Bayern comeback.

Reflecting on the win, Kane praised his team’s energy and performance, hailing it as a “perfect night.”

“It was a perfect night for us,” Kane told Amazon Prime.

“Everyone with energy, all around the pitch, the way we played and created chances and pressed without the ball — it was a top, top performance.”

Mueller, who contributed a crucial goal before halftime, emphasized the significance of Bayern’s progression in the tournament.

“We’re very happy because we know the importance of progressing further today,” he said.

The loss dashed Lazio’s dreams of reaching their first Champions League quarter-final since the 1999-2000 season.

Despite a valiant effort, they were unable to overcome Bayern’s dominance.

Bayern’s victory also provided a lifeline for outgoing coach Thomas Tuchel, who faced mounting pressure following a series of defeats.
