HARARE – Zanu PF has triumphed in seven National Assembly seats left vacant after the recalls of Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) MPs orchestrated by party’s secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu.
The ruling party secured victories in Mabvuku-Tafara, Binga North, Bulawayo South, Beitbridge West, Lupane East, Cowdray Park, and Nketa during the low key Saturday by-elections.
Meanwhile, Tshabangu‘s CCC claimed success in Lobengula Magwegwe and Mpopoma Mzilikazi.
The results of the by-elections demonstrate a noteworthy shift in Binga North, where Zanu PF garnered more votes than in the August general elections—a rare occurrence in a by-election.

The victory can be attributed to the absence of previous member of parliament Prince Dubeko Sibanda who was banned at the last hour from contesting under the CCC ticket by High Court judge Never Katiyo.
