PRETORIA – Cape Town-based Hip Hop artist Emkay Hood, born Michael Kudzai Mhariwa has dropped a top drawer duet “Porsche” featuring Congolese rapper Albooby, real name, Bouka John Baptiste.
The new trap song is already making rave reviews on streaming platforms since its official premier on Wednesday night.
It was produced by rising producer KSG Di Don who has added a unique touch to most trending songs this year.
KSG Di Don is famed with producing songs the likes of Quonfuzed and Lil Jam among others.
“Porsche” is a self-praise song which talks about the different circles Emkay Hood and Albooby have gone through while focusing on the current status in which they have finally made it.
The song is accompanied by a top class video shot by Easy Visualz in Cape Town at the famed Heavenly’s View Guest House.
The song can easily connect to its targeted audience as it talks about a prolonged hustle in a game which has finally paid of hence the use of “Porsche” which represents class.
One does not need a validation from anyone if they have worked their way up and experienced pain or trauma in the process.
Speaking to RosGwen24 News, Fredrick Mutudza who happens to be the manager of Emkay Hood bemoaned the lack of support faced by creatives in diaspora.
“The main challenge is that we don’t have promoters, and it is difficult for one to receive recognition,” said Mutudza.
Emkay Hood has been rising through the Zim Hip Hop ranks at a fast pace despite the barriers faced by diaspora artists in penetrating the home market.
Some of the songs Emkay Hood has worked on in the past include “Ghost” , “They Know It” and “Back It Up” featuring Fabian Fore.
