Zimbabwe beats Namibia in Africa Netball World Cup qualifiers

Zimbabwe recorded their second win of the Africa Netball World Cup Qualifiers beating Namibia 45-41 in a tense match at University of Pretoria's Rembrandt Hall on Tuesday afternoon.

PRETORIA – Zimbabwe recorded their second win of the Africa Netball World Cup Qualifiers beating Namibia 45-41 in a tense match at University of Pretoria’s Rembrandt Hall on Tuesday afternoon.

Zimbabwe suffered injuries to key players Sharon Bwanali, Joice Takaedza and Beaula Hlungwane as Namibia employed an aggressive approach to the game.

Goal Attack Tafadzwa Matura was named the player of the match for the second consecutive match after playing another blinder against Botswana in the opening match on Monday.

Zimbabwe take on Tanzania on Wednesday at 14:00 before winding off the Pool A matches against hosts South Africa on mid-day on Thursday.

The two best teams from this tournament, will join South Africa and Uganda who have already qualified for the Netball World Cup in Cape Town next year.
