Sikandar Raza (87) and Sean Williams (53) propelled tournament favorites Zimbabwe to a huge result after coming in for a 103-point partnership through the middle.
The stage was already set by the opening partnership of Regis Chakabva (24/12) and captain Craig Ervine (34/16), who combined for a sharper 51 of 22.
Seamers Tendai Chatara (3-14) and Blessing Muzarabani (2-21) were instrumental on the ball as Singapore choked under pressure in the big chase.
Zimbabwe are starting a new life in qualifying under new coach Dave Houghton and they won in his first game in charge. They meet Jersey in Game 2 at the same venue tomorrow.
