FC Platinum captain Petros Mhari says the boys will fight till the end, and when they fight together anything can be achieved.
Pure Platinum face-off against Angolan champions GD Sagarada Esperanca in the CAF Champions League Preliminary second leg tie at the giant National Sports Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The match is live on YAFM and ZBC TV at 3pm.
In the reverse fixture in Angola a week ago the two teams played out a goalless draw and FC Platinum shot-stopper Mhari believes they need to maintain the solidity exhibited in Angola.
“The lesson we have learnt in this competition is that we have to be disciplined all round, avoid conceding goals and we have to look after our goals that we have scored and most importantly when it comes to chances created, we should bury them, it is not over until the last whistle. Everyone is going all out on Saturday,” said Mhari.
FC Platinum needs solid start
FC Platinum need not to concede and if they concede Pure Platinum need to outscore the visitors to progress to the first round of the competition.
“It will be a difficult game but every one of us is prepared to fight and that is the most important thing. They will come at us very strongly and we have to give them a fight. If we fight more than them, we can surely win the game,” said the goalkeeper.
FC Platinum were solid and disciplined in Angola. At training coach Norman Mapeza implored on the players to raise their technical aptitudes and concentration levels.
“We need to be solid and disciplined in defence and attack. We need to concentrate always and guard against making unnecessary mistakes which can cost us the match,” said Mhari.
Mhari gave a man of the match performance in Angola and is looking forward to another classy act.
FC Platinum midfield enforcer Kelvin Madzongwe and Donald Teguru are available for selection while defender William Sitima’s availability is cast in doubt due to injury.
