ZIMSEC says Ordinary Level Mathematics paper 1 leaked

HARARE- The examination board, ZIMSEC disclosed Tuesday that the Ordinary Level Mathematics paper 1 written on the same day had leaked in a circumstance that has become a routine norm over the years.

The Zimbabwe School Examination Council (ZIMSEC) said it is investigating candidates believed to have had access to the leaked Mathematics paper before it was written.

“The Zimbabwe School Examination Council would like to alert all its valued stakeholders that reports have been received that there are candidates who had pre-access to the Ordinary Level Mathematics paper 1 (4004/1) which was written this morning (18 October 2022).

“ZIMSEC, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, and the Zimbabwe Republic Police are investigating the leakage and have already identified some candidates who had pre-access to the question paper and are currently tracking down the sources where the papers originated,” it said.

The examinations board was unable to provide further details on the number of candidates who had accessed to the paper.

“The extent of the leakage is yet to be ascertained, after which the relevant authorities will make an informed decision on the administration of this paper,” ZIMSEC said in a statement.
