All systems set for Amplifaya Festival first edition

Emerging artists from all ten provinces of Zimbabwe will present their art at the Amplifaya Festival, which will take place at Heritage Adventure Park in Harare on September 3.

HARARE – Emerging artists from all ten provinces of Zimbabwe will present their art at the Amplifaya Festival, which will take place at Heritage Adventure Park in Harare on 3rd September 2022.

A concept of ​​earGROUND, the first edition of the Amplifaya Festival will see 35 emerging musical voices from the country’s ten provinces showcasing their artistry through various musical genres.

According to organizer Plot Mhako, most of the talent was scouted through social media platforms.

“The festival wants to give young rising voices a chance to be heard. We think they are amazing and we want to give them a platform for Zimbabwe to see them and for the rest of the world to know that Zimbabwe has incredible talent.

“Over the past three years, we have observed emerging voices on different social media platforms like TikTok and managed to identify many talents from different genres.

“We were mainly interested in Zimbabwean sounds because we want musicians who represent Zimbabwe through music. Every contestant is paid for their performance because they are talented and deserve to be treated professionally,” he said.

Jazz star Bernard Betera, DJ King Her, Mystery, Eastwood, Chipo Muchegwa, Andrea the Vocalist and Yenge Family are some of the artists identified via social media during the three-year scouting phase.

Renowned artists such as Takura, Blot, Ti Gonzi and Feli Nandi among others are expected at the event.
