LONDON – Oleksandr Usyk shocked Anthony Joshua on Saturday night, defeating the heavyweight champion by unanimous decision to take his belts.

The Ukranian outperformed the Briton for the majority of the fight, showing off the skills that allowed him to dominate the cruiserweight division but going up in weight.

The slick Ukrainian was the aggressor from the first bell and AJ struggled to find the answers in this high-level game of chess, as Usyk gained a foothold in the fight.

Usyk simply made a mockery of any doubters questioning whether he belongs in the heavyweight division as he cemented his place as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet.

He has now made a serious case to even potentially leapfrog Canelo Alvarez at the top of the rankings after putting on a total boxing masterclass on away soil.

Joshua now has the right to trigger his rematch clause which will see the pair do it all over again straight away.
