LONDON – Premier League leaders Arsenal eased past Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday to go top of their group.
The high-flying Gunners beat Norwegian champions Bodo/Glimt 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium with goals from Eddie Nketiah and Rob Holding in the first half and Fabio Vieira’s strike six minutes from time.
Arsenal lead Group A after back-to-back wins. Their clash with PSV Eindhoven last month was postponed following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
“I’m very happy with the win, six points and one goal conceded. But we lacked connection between the players, we lacked consistency and dominance throughout the game,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta told BT Sport.
“There were eight changes, it felt, the timing was missing.
“In the last third we looked very dangerous, the goals we scored were good goals.”
Yorbe Vertessen and Cody Gakpo both scored twice in PSV Eindhoven‘s 5-1 victory over FC Zürich in Switzerland.
Former Paris Saint-Germain youngster Xavi Simons also scored, while Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side are two points behind the Gunners.
