Inform Simba Bhora striker Tinashe Balakasi is delighted to have scored a brace at the weekend as he edges closer to reaching his target of 20 goals by mid season.

Balakasi who scored a brace in the 6-0 rout of Harare City Cubs at Wadzanai stadium in a Ruyamuro Northern Region Soccer League match on Saturday said he is targeting to score five goals in the upcoming matches as he wants to set a record in the league.

With 15 goals in 14 matches, Balakasi paid tribute to his teammates for ably supporting his cause.

“I’m really excited to have scored a brace on Saturday reaching 15 goals as this makes my target of 20 goals by mid season achievable. With three games I think I’m on course to achieving it,” Balakasi said.

“The fact that I’m at the top is giving me extra motivation to continue working hard. Also my teammates are pushing me very hard to score more goals for the team to achieve it’s target of winning the championship.

“I’m doing it for the team first and then myself second. I also want to encourage those pushing for the golden boot not to be discouraged but to continue working hard.”

Constantine Tinapi, Webster Tafa, Barnabas Mushunje and Pride Tafirenyika got the other goals for Simba Bhora as the Shamva based side moved to withing one point behind log leaders Herentals U20 who are at the top on 31 points after a 1-1 draw away to Trojan Stars.

Jimmy Jimu rescued a point with a goal for Herentals U20 while former Dynamos striker Quality Kangadzi continued with his rejuvenation getting goal for Trojan Stars.

Third placed Golden Eagles stuttered once again drawing 2-2 against Commando Bullets after another result of the same margin against Harare City Cubs the previous week.

Eagles found themselves trailing to a long range shot from Charles Murisa before Raymond Uchena equalised Eagles.

The Joe Luphahla side surged ahead through an own goal by a Commando Bullets defender.

Irvine Njelele the ensured that Commando Bullets share the spoils with another goal in the second half.

Veteran Simba Domingo scored the solitary goal for Chegutu Pirates in the 1-0 win over CUMA Academy as they move in to secure a place in the Axis Super 8 Cup.
