DURBAN – Black Rhinos Queens (Zimbabwe) sealed a semifinal slot at the COSAFA Women’s Champions League campaign currently underway in South Africa with a 3-0 win over Namibian side TURA Magic at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Rhinos becomes the second team to book a semifinal place at the 2021 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA qualifiers after South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns who destroyed Lesotho Defence Force 6-0 in a Group A match played earlier on.
Rhinos Queens got their goals from Rutendo Makore in 23rd minute, Cristobel Katona 66th minute before Makore completed her brace two minutes later.
Makore who was also superb in the 2-0 win over Green Buffaloes on Friday was voted player-of-the-match for a second successive time.
Black Rhinos Queens coach Kudakwashe Mutiwa was happy to qualify for the semifinals with a perfect record and commended his charges for the effort.
Opposite number, Timotheus Tjongarero was graceful even in defeat and looks forward to the final and decisive TURA Magic versus Green Buffaloes on Monday.
