HARARE – CAPS United has reportedly moved swiftly to sign former Chicken Inn and Ngezi Platinum Stars striker Clive Augusto as a replacement of top marksman Ishmael Wadi who recently secured a move down south.
Augusto makes a return to the local scene following his release by South Africa’s DStv Premiership side Maritzburg United following a dismal outing.
While it may be a disappointing experience for Augusto, the situation is just good news for the Green Machine who recently lost their reliable striker Wadi to South Africa First Division side JDR Stars.
Wadi secured a move to JDR Stars after impressing the team’s staff during a short trial stint and the loss was felt by Harare giants CAPS United who have relied on his goals during the Chibuku Super Cup games.
But the former Cup Kings have been comforted following the signing of another lethal forward in Augusto who is expected to be announced this week according to information gathered by RosGwen24.
He joined Maritzburg United from Chicken Inn in 2019 after scoring 14 goals in the first half of the season.
