LONDON – Chelsea saw off AC Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night to revive their hopes of reaching the last 16 of the most popular club tournament on the globe.

Chelsea ended their wait for a Group E victory as goals from Wesley Fofana, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Reece James sealed an impressive 3-0 triumph over Italian champions AC Milan at Stamford Bridge.

It was Aubameyang’s second goal for the club after he scored his first Premier League goal for the Blues at the weekend against Crystal Palace.

The Blues picked up back-to-back wins under new boss Graham Potter to stage a crucial six-day clash at the San Siro.

Chelsea are second in Group E, level on points with third-placed Milan, one point behind leaders Salzburg, who beat Dinamo Zagreb 1-0.

“It’s easier when you win games,” Aubameyang said. “The atmosphere is very good at the moment. We will try to maintain it.”
