China remained the top growth market for spending on cloud infrastructure services in the first quarter of 2022, according to a report by technology market research firm Canalys.
Such spending in mainland China totalled $7.3 billion in the first three months, up 21% from a year ago, Canalys said.
The country’s spending accounted for 13% of the global total, according to the report.
Market leaders in China remained stable in the first quarter, with the top four cloud service providers being Alibaba Cloud, Huawei Cloud, Tencent Cloud and Baidu AI Cloud, according to the report.
According to Canalys, all four vendors benefited from the expansion of cloud usage in China and accounted for 79% of total spend in China.
