HARARE — Two time Soccer Star of the Year Rodwell Chinyengetere has joined CAPS United following the expiry of his contract with FC Platinum.
Chinyengetere who was voted the best player in the domestic league in 2017 and 2018 agreed terms with CAPS United and is set to be unveiled soon once the club’s leadership finishes clearing arrears owed to current players.
There has been an exodus of players at CAPS United due to financial challenges but the club’s leadership is said to be making frantic efforts to retain some key players as well as bringing in some reinforcements.
Chinyengetere’s former teammate at FC Platinum, Petros Mhari who has been rumoured to be on his way to Bulawayo Chiefs, is staying put in Zvishavane after agreeing with the club on a new improved contract.
Elsewhere, Dynamos are set to lose Godknows Murwira to Manica Diamonds. Murwira who has just returned from the Africa Cup of Nations with the Warriors, has been offered an irresistible contract by Manica Diamonds.
Herentals have also been active on the market bringing in centre forward John Zhuwawu from CAPS United, midfielder Ali Maliselo from Dynamos as well as former midfielder Edgar Mhungu who makes a return to the club.
