LUSAKA – Chipolopolo striker Kennedy Musonda says his duty is to Zambia despite having some friends in the Tanzanian team when the two sides face off tonight at the Amani Stadium in a Group E encounter.
Responding to questions from the Tanzanian media about whether his ties with some former teammates at Young Africans where he carved a lovable personality among the fans, Musonda said the friendships would be renewed after 90 minutes.
“Football has nothing to do with do with whether they know me or not. It is about who applies themselves the best way on the pitch on the day,” he says.
“About friends, we can talk about that after the match.”
“We are professionals and we know what we are supposed to do on the pitch. We have to be prepared mentally and be ready. The focus is on the national team.”

Musonda says the team was ready for the match against the Taifa Stars that kicks off at 21h00 CAT.
“On behalf of the players we are very much aware of the task that is at hand and we are hungry to get back to winning ways,” he says.
“We are very much ready and very much mentally prepared for this game.”
Chipolopolo will face Tanzania tonight (Wednesday) before hosting Niger on Sunday at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
The game will be live on SuperSport.
