Bhasera stars in SuperSport’s Nedbank Cup victory

PRETORIA - SuperSport United sealed a 1-0 win over Maritzburg United in the Nedbank Cup on Wednesday evening in which ageless defender Onisimor Bhasera was man-of-the-match.

PRETORIA – Zimbabwe international defender Onisimor Bhasera put up a splendid performance and was named the man of the match in SuperSport United ‘s 1-0 win over Maritzburg United in the Nedbank Cup on Wednesday evening.

Bhasera was instrumental both in defence and attack as SuperSport marched into the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup ahead of Tawanda Macheke’s Maritzburg United.

Macheke who recently joined Maritzburg after the expiry of his contract with Black Rhinos, lasted the whole match while Warriors forward Kuda Mahachi came in as a substitute in the last four minutes of the match.

Warriors fringe defender McClive Phiri was on the bench when GladAfrica Championship side Venda Football Academy secured a place in the Nedbank Cup last 16 with a 3-1 win over Africa All Stars.

In Saudi Arabia, Ovidy Karuru scored his first goal for his new club Saudi Arabia second-tier side, Al-Shoulla FC.

Former TelOne midfielder Mcebisi Moyo continues with his fine run in the Botswana Premier League getting his seventh goal of the season in Sua Flamingoes 1-1 draw against Township Rollers.

Moyo is proving to be the find of the season for the Rahman Gumbo coached Flamingoes who also have two other Zimbabweans Dominic Chungwa and captain Tendai Nyumasi on their books.
