Midfielder Ronald ‘Rooney’ Chitiyo has joined ambitious Northern Region Soccer League log leaders Simba Bhora after ditching financially troubled CAPS United.
Chitiyo is one of the players that were initially transfer listed by CAPS United after being accused of being ring leaders for the strike before the defeat to Cranborne Bullets recently.
Chitiyo was however pardoned along with Rodwell Chinyengetere and Devon Chafa but the midfielder rebuffed the clemency as he felt the players were being victimised for demanding their money.
The CAPS United hierarchy tried in vain to persuade Chitiyo to stay but he refused. The club has also been trying to entice Dennis Dauda to return to the club but the former Soccer Star of the year is no longer interested.
Chitiyo joins former team mate at CAPS United Simba Chinani who signed last week.
Simba Bhora recently announced the signing of former ZPC Kariba forward Raphael Manuvire from Chegutu Pirates, Nigel Tinarwo and Kumbirai Kapikinyu from Harare City, Privilege Mugandani from Black Mambas and Clive Boroma from Yadah.
The Shamva based side already boast a cast of experienced players that includes former Dynamos midfielder Barnabas Mushunje and Brighton Tuwaya, former Harare City striker Tinashe Balakasi, 2016 Soccer Star of the Year Hardlife Zvirekwi and ex-Lengthens midfielder Stephen Matsangaise. They also have Ghanaian import Michael Debrah in their ranks.
