HARARE – Zanu PF spokesperson Patrick ‘Mr Bin’ Chinamasa on Monday rebuked long time ally Julius Malema of the Economic Freedom Fighters party (South Africa) over his remarks that the Zimbabwe ruining party was now a bunch of cowards by resorting to intimidation of its citizens.
The remarks by Malema came after the Emmerson Mnangagwa led government announced last week that they had agreed to compensate the white farmers who were chased from their farms at the height of a land reform program initiated by the late President Robert Mugabe at the turn of the millennium.
Chinamasa also warned the prominent South African opposition leader to keep his distance from Zimbabwe’s internal affairs.
Malema this week threatened to mobilise nearly 50,000 South Africans to march and force the closure of the Zimbabwean embassy in Pretoria in protest against escalating human rights abuses.
“And I want to say this to Mr Julius Malema, making inflammatory speeches and donning red work suits and barrettes do not make a revolutionary,” Chinamasa said.
“So Zanu PF says to Mr Julius Malema and his EFF, for God’s sake, stop poking your G40 nose in Zimbabwe’s domestic affairs. ”
